Refund and Cancellation Policy
How to cancel, and when we give your money back. Written to be short enough that a governing body can read it in a meeting.

1.How to cancel
Your plan renews automatically until you cancel it , monthly on the monthly plan, yearly on the annual plan. To stop it, email info@outerjoin.co.za from an address on the account. That is all you have to do. We will cancel the renewal within one working day and confirm in writing.
There is no notice period, no cancellation fee, and nobody will try to talk you out of it. Payfast also emails you when the subscription is created, and you can cancel it with them directly if you would rather.
Cancelling stops future payments. Your portal stays open until the end of the period you have already paid for.
If you paid by EFT there is nothing to cancel: we invoice you before each renewal, so simply tell us you are not continuing, or do not pay the invoice.
2.Refunds
Within 14 days of your first payment we will refund you in full, for any reason, no questions asked. Email us and say so.
After 14 days, on the annual plan, we refund the unused whole months remaining in your term. A school that has used four months of a twelve month term is refunded for eight. On the monthly plan there is nothing to refund after 14 days, because the period you paid for is the one you are in.
If a renewal took you by surprise, tell us within 14 days of that payment and we will refund it in full and cancel the plan. We would rather give the money back than have a school feel caught out by a renewal it had forgotten about.
If we let you down, whether through prolonged unavailability or something we got wrong, we will refund you whether or not the 14 days have passed. Tell us what happened.
3.How a refund is paid
A refund goes back the way the payment came. A card payment is reversed through Payfast to the same card. An EFT payment is paid back to the account it came from, so we may ask you to confirm the banking details in writing.
We process refunds within 5 working days of agreeing one. How quickly it reaches you after that is up to your bank, and a card reversal commonly takes a further 3 to 10 working days.
4.What happens to your data
When your access ends, for whatever reason, we keep your school's data for 90 days. During that time you can ask us for a copy of everything, or come back and pick up where you left off. After 90 days it is deleted from your school's store and cannot be recovered.
You can export your policies, minutes and registers yourself at any time while your access is live, and we would encourage you to before you leave.
5.Duplicate and mistaken payments
If you pay twice, or pay the wrong amount, tell us and we will refund the difference in full. We would rather you told us, but we also check for this ourselves.
6.Prices, for reference
The monthly plan is R1,750 a month. The annual plan is R15,000 a year. Both include VAT. Full pricing is on the pricing section, and the rest of the agreement is in our Terms and Conditions.
